To share or not to share?

Get well flowers from a dear friend. Thanks Mrs. M!

How much does a person share on a blog? I've tried to stay away from sharing anything that is too personal....only sharing special moments, projects or everyday happenings in my life. In reading other blogs the whole spectrum is acceptable...anywhere from only pictures to lots and lots of words, opinions, thoughts, struggles, illnesses, etc. So, to answer many questions and concerns about my recent lack of blog posts and communication I've decided to share the reason behind the silence.....I have Mono. I spend most of my days sleeping.....resting, and then sleeping some more.

Since being "down", I was given a special music CD that I absolutely LOVE. This is one of the songs I've so thoroughly enjoyed from it, for reasons too personal to share. Thank you Mr. R.

Time for a nap!

Conversations with a 2 year old

Me: "Mr. Z, don't go downstairs please, you need to finish getting dressed."
Mr. Z: "I need to go downstairs"
Me: "If you go downstairs, I'm going to spank you. Please come and get dressed."
Mr. Z: "You just don't understand, Dista....I be right back!"

Mr. Z: "Dista, say axe......you can do it."
Me: "Axe"
Mr. Z: "That's better! I knew you could do it!"

And that was how most all of our conversations went. At 26 months his language skills, being QUITE advanced, keep a person on their toes! Always out with a joke or some smart remark. Quite the imagination too! We got the rebounder out for him to "exercise" some of his energy on and it became a train, a plane, a 4-wheeler, etc. The hallway became train tracks that he had to run down MANY times a day while chugga chugga choo choo-ing, the stairs...a river to float down. Love the imagination. Thanks for visiting Mr. Z!

Matching Dress Party

Remember this post when I mentioned something big happening?? I had a matching dress party last Saturday for a family in my Salem field. Last November this dear couple adopted 2 little girls....1 1/2 and 2 1/2 years old. They got them so quickly I wasn't able to have a "shower" or party before they arrived so I waited until the girls were secure with their new Mommy and Daddy. They have adjusted SOOOOO well!! All four of them are very happy!

Anyway, I asked the parents what the girls needed.....no toys, no books, but dresses! And the Mother likes to dress them alike, which quickly became the theme of the party "Matching Dresses". It was very fun to plan. I chose brown and pink as the decorating colors.

Preparing.....

Lots of supplies!

My two tireless helpers!!! They were troopers....decorating 72 dress cookies!

Some of the finished product. Notice the cookies beyond the frosted ones......at this point we were only 1/2 done!
