Project

I was finally able to finish this project that I started several months ago. Amazing how long a project takes when you have to sleep every row or so. ;) I am thankful to have it done and it has already been delivered to it's recipient.

A day at the river

A few weeks ago, I had some company and we spent an afternoon down at the river. Little sunbathing, swimming, lunching, resting, etc. Was so nice and restful! The bridge on the left is our new pedestrian bridge that goes from W. Salem over to Front Street. It is quite lovely!!!! When I have strength, I would love to take a bike ride!

Can you guess who?

This person is the same as above....just a profile of head on this one.

The people I went with, didn't want to be "blogged" or even pictured in their swimsuits (not that I blame them) so I took pictures of their shadows. Can you guess who???

Holiday camping experience

Our campsite from the river.

Reading around the campfire.

Our campsite from the road.

Another view of the campground from the river.

I must say that this last weekend, I got an education about 4th of July camping. There are those of us who like to camp, to enjoy nature, quietness, etc and then there are those who like to camp as an excuse to have an on-going party.

Mr. D, Mrs. A and I, decided to go camping on the Siletz River which is closer to home than where we usually go....and quite a bit less hassle. Well, lots of other people decided that it was a nice place to go also.

We were exposed to the loud effects of drinking, vulgarity of every shape and size, nighttime vomiting from all the indulgence, etc. from our VERY close neighbors. And by very close I mean about 2 feet from our heads!!!!

On the positive side, the weather was beautiful. Warm and sunny....little breezy in the evenings but perfect for the coast.
