Little late for Mother's Day

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to Earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and Helpless?"
God said, "Your Angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in Heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile; to be happy."
God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. You will feel your Angel's love, and be very happy."
Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"
God said, " Your Angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your Angel will teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to You?"
God said, "Your Angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."
"Who will protect me?"
God said, "Your Angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."
"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."
God said, "Your Angel will always talk to you about ME and will teach you the way to come back to ME, even though I will always be next to you."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but Voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."
God said, "You will simply call her, 'Mom.'"

Thought Flowers

The heart is a garden where
Thought flowers grow.
The thoughts that we think
Are the seeds that we sow;
Each kind loving thought
Bears a kind loving deed,
While the thought that is selfish
Is just like a weed.
We must watch what we think
The livelong day,
And pull out the weed thoughts
And throw them away,
And plant loving seed thoughts
So thick in a row
So there will be no room for
The weed thoughts to grow.

CHEETOS!?!?!

Ok, I DO NOT feed Nutmeg junk food. For a treat she gets almonds or cashews but when we go to Grandpa and Grandma's house....it's a different story. Nutmeg gets anything she wants. Gpa introduced her to cheetos. After that, all she had to do was go sit by him or stand up on her back legs and he headed for the cheetos bag. He even taught her how to jump up on his lap....by holding one up by his chest. Sigh. Now we are back to puppy boot camp!

Artichokes

Wednesday evening my cousins Amber and Kayla came over for dinner. Grandma had never eaten an artichoke before SO....we had them for dinner. One for each of us. They were oh-so-yummy!! Tender and sweet. Grandpa wasn't too excited. He finished off the ribs, instead. Grandma worked hard until she got right down to the heart of the matter...the best part.

Sleepless in ER...

Are we having fun yet???

Tuesday night Dad went to bed, not feeling well. Woke up with terrible pain. Took him to ER where we remained until 6:30 Wednesday morning. Not a wink of sleep that night, except for Nutmeg.

Helping Aunt Becky

Grandma labeling papers, making sure to keep all the numbers in order! :) Kayla double checking our work.

Kayla, happy we're done. :)

Coffee break after all the papers are ready to be mailed.
Tuesday morning Grandma and I went up to Sutherlin to help Aunt Becky label newspapers for mailing. She recently bought the "North County News" newspaper. Fun to read. Sorry Becky, I didn't get a picture of you.

Trip to Roseburg

Last Monday, Nutmeg and I accompanied Dad and Brice down to Roseburg (to visit Grandpa and Grandma). Was a VERY eventful trip!!!! To start with, circumstances gave us a 3 hour late start. Then 20 minutes down the road, the truck broke down (a fuel pump needing replaced). Waited for towing, Brice picked us up...."on the road again". Arriving in Roseburg, rather late-ish.
